FEDERAL LAW MANDATES A DOT-COMPLIANT TESTING PROGRAM

 If your company falls under department of transportation (DOT) regulations, it is mandatory to institute and maintain a DOT-compliant drug and alcohol testing program. WHO MUST BE TESTED?

  • Driver operating a vehicle having a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) as assigned by the manufacturer of 26,001 pounds or more
  • Driver operating a combination of motor vehicles having a gross combination weight rating of 26,001 pounds or more, inclusive of a towed vehicle having a weight rating of 10,000 pounds or more
  • Driver operating a vehicle designed to transport 16 or more passengers, including the driver
  • Driver operating a vehicle, regardless of size or rating, that carries hazardous materials in a quantity that requires placarding
